2019 World Billiards Championships
World Billiards and the Australian Billiards & Snooker Council are delighted to announce that the 2019 World Billiards Championship and 2019 World Open will take place at the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria, in Melbourne, Australia, between Sunday 6th and Saturday 12th October.
The World Open will be played over the first two days of this period. The World Billiards Championship will be contested between Tuesday 8th and Saturday 12th.
The historic and prestigious World Billiards Championship, first contested in 1870, was played in Melbourne in 1934, when Australian billiards legend Walter Lindrum defended his title against England’s Joe Davis. 85 years later, the Championship will be played in Australia for the second time.
The RACV Club is an outstanding venue for this event, with a first-class members only billiard room, extensive dining facilities and an on-site hotel. It is situated right in the heart of Melbourne within walking distance of numerous cafes, restaurants and entertainment facilities.
