Expressions of Interest - ABSC Hall of Fame
Expression of Interest (EOI) ABSC Hall of Fame Established October 2024
ABSC are calling for expression of interest from companies, entities or individuals, who might be in a position to assist ABSC in the setting up of a Hall of Fame for our games in Australia.
This is a very important development and much overdue Hall of Fame initiative, by the ABSC History and Archive Committee, who will in October 2024 present a Virtual, Initial Induction, of passed Australian Billiards and Snooker identities, who were the Champions of the game and made their name competing against the very best players in a long past era of world competition mostly in the UK.
Players like Walter Lindrum, Eddie Charlton and Bob Marshall will be in the first group of inductees which will also include the induction of the Lindrum Family as the Pioneers of Billiards and Snooker in Australia.
The second Inductions are planned for October 2025, with a proposed dinner, possibly at the Mounties Club in Sydney, and also possibly in conjunction with the 2025 Bob Hawke AO Open.
It is proposed to have guests like Neil Robertson, Robby Foldvari and Steve Mifsud, male World Snooker and Billiards Champions, plus Lesley Mcllrath, Anna Lynch, Kathy Howden and Jessica Woods, female Billiards and Snooker World Champions, attend the inductions and the dinner.
It is proposed that further Inductions will be held on a bi-annual basis, inducting players, administrators, coaches, clubs and referees.
