Message from the President
2020/21 has been a difficult time for all of us and I hope with the release of the vaccine things will improve.
The 2021 Asia Pacific Snooker & Billiard Federation (APSBF) championships are the latest event to suffer postponement. It was originally scheduled to be hosted by the Commercial Club, Albury but due to international travel restrictions the Board at the club made the sensible decision to cancel this year. As a result of this cancellation we had to make sure we fulfilled our obligation to World Snooker Limited (WSL) to produce an Open” champion to receive a two year Main Tour spot. After a discussion with Jason Ferguson, Chairman of WSL we decided to postpone once again until we were confident that international borders were open which will allow players to freely travel.
As soon as we are sure we can successfully run these championships we will reschedule for later this year.
I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause
Yours in sport
Frank Dewens, President, ABSC
