Day 2 - Reventon Commercial Club International

After 2 fantastic days of snooker we are now down to the last 16 which kicks off at 9am at the Commercial Club in Albury.

Last night the Calcutta event took place at 6pm and was quite a buzz with a mix of the usual and the not so usual making their way into the top 16 auctioning. The calcutta at Albury is quite an attraction and adds to the overall experience of any event held there. The night concluded with a nice dinner where we also heard from Tony Beltrame from Reventon talk about how set yourself up for a comfortable retirement through property investment.

Here is a quick run down of what to expect from today’s snooker.

Top seed Johl Younger had a solid 3-1 win over Justin Sajich from NSW and now plays Timothy Ng from Sydney. Hassan Kerde who is looking the goods takes on Alex Gangi who had great wins earlier over Adrian Ridley and Marc Bullen from Victoria. Ben Judge got over the line 3-2 against John Walmsley and plays one of the hot favourites from NSW, Tyson Crinis. After both having narrow 3-2 wins in their last 32 matches, Joe Minici (NSW) takes on Matthew Bolton (WA). Shawn Budd who now lives back in Sydney had a tight 3-2 win over Daniel Kandi. Daniel looked like one of the players to beat in this event after travelling 10,000km + to compete in this event. Bad luck Daniel. Shawn now plays Alan McCarthy. Local hero Shaun Dalitz takes on the rising star of Cale Barrett who had a great win over Ben Foster in the last 32. James Mifsud will be hard to beat this weekend playing some good snooker but he now takes on one of the surprise entrants into the last 16, Jie Deng. Jie had fantastic wins over Paul Thomerson, Alex Pace and the master of masters Roger Farebrother. And finally last up we see Rob Elsley from NSW once again take on Steve Mifsud (returning to the pro tour next season) in what should be a close match. Rob has had two solid wins over Steve in the last two times they played.

The plate event attracted 64 entries and concludes today also.

Look forward to seeing you at the Club for some awesome snooker today. If you are not there, check out results HERE.
