New ABSC Policies

The ABSC and all Member States have adopted a new Code of Conduct and Social Media Policy on 7 February 2024.

These replace the old ABSC Member Protection Policy and Social Media Policy, and operate alongside the National Integrity Framework.  Any issues arising from these new policies will be managed under the ABSC NIF Complaints, Disputes and Discipline Policy.  A Step-by-Step flowchart of the complaints management process is available here:

The full suite of ABSC governance documents, including the NIF Policies is available at www.absc.com.au/governance

All members are encouraged to become familiar with these policies.  There have been several recent instances of unacceptable behaviour both in person and on social media, and the policies clearly set out the standards of conduct expected.

The ABSC Secretary General, Simon Fortune is also the nominated ABSC Complaint Manager.  Any queries about the content of policies, or the processes for lodging a complaint should be directed to him in the first instance at secretary@absc.com.au.
