World 6 Red Snooker

1 May 2017

As has been previously announced, the Australian National 6 Red Snooker Championship was deferred from its originally scheduled date due to a clash with other major events in Launceston putting the cost of accommodation unacceptably high.

A number of other options for the event were considered, but with the busy nature of our calendar at this time of year it has not been possible to find a suitable time for the event to be held to give it the proper status that a National Championship deserves. It is not felt appropriate for it to be tacked onto an afternoon/evening prior to another event.

As a result, selections will be made for the IBSF World 6 Red and Teams Championships on an "Expressions of Interest" basis. Players wishing to compete in the event at Hurghada, Egypt on 1st - 9th August, should register their name with Frank Dewens by email – kindew1@bigpond.com by JUNE 11TH. Men's, Women's and Masters categories are all eligible for selection.

Selections will be made in order of the National Ranking List after the completion of the City of Melbourne Snooker. Note that the Selection Committee will reserve the right to accept players of a sufficient standard to represent Australia, and that all positions will be self-funded.
