Kathy Howden Wins World Ladies Doubles

Australia's Kathy Howden, along with Wendy Jans from Belgium has won the World Ladies Doubles Snooker Championship. The pair defeated Lea Lindhout of Holland and Val Finnie of Scotland in the final 3-2.

A more notable victory was a 3-0 win in the semi final over World No. 1 Kelly Fisher and Marainne Lazarides, both from England. Fisher scored a 104 break in the tournament, and has also made a 125 in the singles event.

Australia's other representative, Caroline Hunter, was paired with Christine Sharpe of England, but they were knocked out in the round of 16 by Welsh pair Rebecca Corfield and Laura Evans.
